Where have YOU been?

Okay, okay, alright….I know. It has been awhile, but lucky for me and those reading I don’t have much to share.

May flew by.  Another semester is under my tail (because I DO have one) and it’s astounding to think this fall I will start my senior year of college.  I feel utterly confused with what I will do with my life once I am no longer in school. And for that very reason, I considered Grad school for a brief moment. Um, yeah, that’s not going to happen.  But seriously people! A senior in college is a big deal and a big ball of confusion and uncertainty! However, I do love what I do not see coming because the Lord will surely hit me with a curve ball and then I will probably laugh at Him for doing so.

At the end of May, Preston and I traveled to the Dominican Republic with my parents.  What a great time.  We were completely lazy and boring. Okay, maybe not boring.  It was great to read, lay on the beach and be around some of the best people in the world for a whole week.

Since I’ve been back I started nannying, my internship, and training for a 5K race in the fall. Of course, the best part about summer has been all the time I’ve gotten to share with my friends.  A Thursday night bike gang now exists, and duh, I’m a member. It’s seriously the best. Love, love, love it.

The girls I nanny are pretty great. Plus their parents are super awesome.  I only work two days a week and get to take them fun places. Perfecto.

My internship officially started today.  I am working at Cox Hospital in the Volunteer offices.  I will be putting together a handbook and planning a kickoff event in September.  Hopefully I can make the most of it and really dig deep to do my very best and meet some great people. I hope I get to use the tid bit of creativity that I have. . .because it is screaming to get out of me and into some project! Let’s hope it doesn’t go into hiding anytime soon.

The 5K run is something I’ve always wanted to do.  Really, I would love to do a half marathon, but I’m going to work my way up to that. It’s been going well.  Running three days a week isn’t bad at all even if I do hate running. Plus I have a running buddy.  I realize saying I hate to run yet wanting to train for such a thing is contradicting, but just go with it. Soon I will be running three miles all at once. Who the hell would have thought? Not this girl.

Lately the Lord has really been blessing me with opportunities to play my music. Randomly and very sporadically shows have been popping up. I played a show with a full band last Friday and it was an absolutely blast.  A lot of my dear friends came, which just made it even better.  Alex brought me flowers which I proudly displayed on stage while I played.  Here are some photos that she took during the show.

These guys make me sound good.

I am also in the process of making some decisions about my music and what to do next as far as putting out an EP or waiting a while and writing more.  I am so very impatient sometimes. :o)  Alex and I have been taking a lot of photos and talking about designs for myspace and cds.  I just love that my friends are talented, passionate people. Here are some photos she has taken the last few weeks.

I always love the colors in Alex's photos.
